CONFERENCE OVERVIEW AND COVERAGE
There has been lot of impetus to expand gas demand across domestic households, commercial, industrial, and transport sectors covered under the city gas distribution (CGD) sector, as this sector is the largest contributor to the gas based economy in India.

The CGD gas demand reached 32.56 mmscmd during 2021-22 (19.85%) from 16.5% in 2018. Since 2011, the sector has grown by 7.1% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). While CGD for transport and households has priority for domestic gas allocation, LNG is still heavily used and accounts for more than 50% of total gas consumed in India. LNG share in CGD has reached 41.6% of gas consumed in CGD sector. LNG has been, and will continue to be, competitive in the CGD segment as it is cheaper than alternative fuels such as diesel and gasoline. LNG is also catching up for application in long haul buses, trucks and other heavy earth moving mechanism and for Trains. As per the draft LNG policy, 1000 LNG filling stations will be established by various stakeholders as free marketing of LNG in auto sector and boil-off gas sale to any user is a part of the policy. In absence of well-developed pipeline network and fast track implementation of CGD by PNGRB, LNG is proving to be the best solution as additional gas source to CGD.

CGD sector is projected to have high growth and in the Gas Based Economy for India by 2030. CGD is expected to have highest addition of capacity to a tune of 150 mmscmd. Looking by the domestic gas production scenario, LNG will be a major contributor to this additional gas demand.

To understand the pivotal role of LNG in the growth of CGD in India and industry’s preparedness to meet such growth potential, Resonance Energy is organizing a 2 days conference on 2-3 June 2022, at Mayur Ballroom II, Hotel Crowne Plaza Mayur Vihar, New Delhi titled “LNG for CGD and Long Haul Fleets in India”, brining together the LNG Producer, Transporter, Equipment manufacturer, LNG user and consultants.
