CONFERENCE OVERVIEW AND COVERAGE
<p>Caring for the environment, Government of India committed itself for the gas based economy, increasing gas share in Indian energy basket from 6.2% in 2018 to 15% by 2025 as against world average 24%. The major share of NG is expected in CGD retail sector. Starting with humble beginning in 1992, CGD has achieved 43 lakh household connections and 1,450 CNG stations accounting for 25.01 mmscmd in October 2018 gas consumption in CGD. Till 8 round of bidding 10% area and 18% population of India was covered for gas supply and during 9 round of bidding, additional coverage of 24% area and 26% population has been covered, which calls for a capital outlay of Rs. 120,000 Crore. PNGRB on 20.11.18 announced the 10 round bidding where 50 GAs are put on bid. On the conclusion of this round, 53% area 70% population of India can have access to natural gas. </p><p>This conference addresses the quintessential question- what needs to be done to sustain such a fast growing trend in CGD. Looking the growth trend of CGD for two and half decades, the committed work programme is highly ambitious. This conference also intends to find the innovative ideas, conducive to achieve such ambitious targets.<br></p>
